History

Hagan Machinery Pty Ltd was founded by Raye Hagan in 1965, located in Dent Street, Toowoomba (presently DRTV Service). Shortly after, Hagan Machinery built the existing workshop and relocated to the present site at the corner of Mort and Thackeray Streets, Toowoomba.

Before starting his own business Raye served his apprenticeship at Larges Foundry, then worked at Walsh Engineering and Darling Downs Bacon, all located in Toowoomba.

After serving his apprenticeship as a first class machinist at the Toowoomba Foundry, Gavin Hagan commenced work in 1981 and became a director of Hagan Machinery before taking over the business in 1990 on Raye's retirement. Hagan Machinery is now owned and operated by Gavin and Leanne Hagan.

Testimonies

FIBRECYCLE

Our paper recycling company has factories in Australia and the UK.

Fibrecycle's fabrication requirements can be quite complex and often solutions to production problems need to be found quickly.

We needed an engineering service provider who could work from rough sketches and verbal instructions, respect the 'commercial in confidence' nature of our production processes and turn jobs around quickly.

Hagan Machinery does this well by anyone's standard. They accurately interpret a brief and have the in-house equipment, processes and technical expertise needed to manufacture equipment to a very high standard, within tight time frames and in a cost effective manner.

HUMES

In our business (precast concrete products) it is critical that we meet production deadlines and our hard won reputation largely depends on our capacity to consistently deliver products on time and to a uniformly high standard.

During the last 20 years Humes (South East Qld) has developed a valuable commercial relationship with the Toowoomba based engineering company, Hagan Machinery.

Hagan Machinery manufactures, repairs and maintains moulds and production equipment for us. They supply the steel work used in the production of our precast products. (For example, Hagan's developed a specially shaped reinforcing bar that other suppliers simply could not deliver).

In addition to this, Hagan Machinery have assisted Humes in the design of equipment which has served to greatly improve safe work practices across our business.

We have found their work to be of a very high standard. I respect the fact that Gavin Hagan and his staff willingly take on technically difficult projects and quickly deliver an effective result. They are often able to supply components for projects in Brisbane more quickly and for a better price than their Brisbane competitors.
